During a recent press conference held on November 29, 2023, at the Tsuneishi Hall of Lapulapu Cebu International College (LCIC), the esteemed “Pillars of Power” leadership team unveiled their ambitious plans and roadmap for the institution.

This event provided a glimpse into LCIC’s innovative approach, its exceptional features, and the strategic direction it intends to pursue in the coming years.

Visionary Leadership and Strategic Roadmap

Prof. Grace Gorospe Jamon, the President, alongside Dr. Ulysses Aparece, VP for Academic Affairs; Mr. Wilson Calderon, VP for Administration and Finance; Dr. Sharon Monsale, the College Registrar; and Dr. Delfin Cabañero, Head of Student Affairs, outlined their strategic plans for LCIC’s future.

They emphasized a commitment to evolving with educational trends while maintaining the core values of the college.

Prof. Grace Gorospe Jamon, the President of LCIC, spearheaded the discussion by outlining the strategic direction for the college.

The focus was not just on maintaining the college’s existing strengths but on fortifying its horizons toward being internationally accredited as an educational institution.

The roadmap includes implementing new academic programs and increasing global partnerships.

Dr. Ulysses Aparece, VP for Academic Affairs, then detailed the plans to enrich the curriculum. Emphasis was placed on language learning programs as a fundamental component on all course offerings.

The integration of sustainable, inter-cultural “buddy system” model into the coursework also aims to prepare students for the evolving demands of the global job market.

Mr. Wilson Calderon, VP for Administration and Finance, highlighted the ongoing investments in the college’s infrastructure such as its student dormitory and its state-of-the-art TSUNEISHI HALL auditorium to facilitate a broader range of academic and extracurricular activities.

Dr. Delfin Cabañero, Head of Student Affairs, emphasized the college’s dedication to enhancing the student experience.

This includes expanding student services to ensure students are well-supported in their academic and personal growth.

LCIC’s roadmap also includes a stronger focus on community engagement and global outreach. Dr. Sharon Monsale, the College Registrar, spoke about initiatives aimed at fostering community partnerships, group learning opportunities, and international exchange programs.

CHED-Certified Courses at LCIC

LCIC currently offers three distinct courses that have been certified by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), reflecting the college’s dedication to academic excellence and adherence to national educational standards.

Tourism Management: This course prepares students for the dynamic and growing field of tourism.

The curriculum is designed to provide in-depth knowledge about travel, hospitality, and tourism management.

It includes practical training and internships, giving students a real-world perspective of the industry.

Physical Therapy: The Physical Therapy program at LCIC is geared towards producing skilled healthcare professionals.

TESDA-Approved Short-Term Programs

In addition to the CHED-certified courses, LCIC also offers four short-term programs approved by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA).

Emphasis on Japanese Language Proficiency
